Needed:

  • Filter Funhouse_ Emission mirror: here
  • Filter FM Tile tools: here
  • Filter IC Net software – Filters Unlimited 2: here
  • Nice image (a full image is nicer as a tubed one)

Preperations:

  • Set your foreground color to ‘white’
  • Set your background color to ‘a color from your image’ and write down the number of this color!
  • Styles / Gradient, and choose your foreground-background gradient (on top of the list, usually!), with these settings:

1. Open a new image, sized 1024 x 350 (height x width)

2. Flood fill / Fill with your gradient

3. Effects / Plug-in / Funhouse / Emission mirror, standard setting

4. Effects / Edge / Enhance more

5. Effects / Plug-in / FM Tile tools / Blend emboss, standard settings

6. Now we have to make our image window a little larger. You can do this like this: Move your mouse pointer over the blue top edge until you see a black arrow. Click and hold (with left mouse button), and move your mouse up a bit. And repeat the same on the bottom of the window…

7. Select your ‘deformation’ tool

8. Now we’re going to deform our background image a little on the top and on the bottom (see example image below). Place your mouse pointer on the little square and when the up-down arrow appears, pull it all the way up. Do the same with the bottom square. Then hit ‘apply’ on your ‘Tool options’ palette

9. If your image is a bit small, put it on ‘View / Normal viewing (1/1)’ for a while

10. Effects / Plug-in / IC Net software / Filters Unlimited 2 / Color filters / Sunshine, standard setting

**Put this background image out of view for a while**

Now take your chosen image

11. Image / Resize, with everything chosen, and 250 pixels as height

12. Effects / Sharpen / Sharpen

13. Turn the background color into a color now, which is NOT in your image!

14. Image / Add borders (‘yes’ if questioned), symmetric, sized 2

15. Magic wand, select the border

16. Turn your background color back to your chosen color. If correct, you’ve written its number down somewhere

17. Flood fill, with your gradient (as before)

18. Effects / 3D effects / Inner bevel / Metallic, with standard settings

19. Image / Add borders, 40

20. Magic wand, select new border

21. Layer palette / Right click on your ‘background’ layer and choose ‘promote to layer’

22. Hit the ‘delete’ button on your keyboard

23. Layers / New raster layer

24. Flood fill, fill with your gradient

25. Effects / Plug-in / Funhouse / Emission mirror, ‘ok’

26. Selections / Select none

27. Magic wand, select all 4 corners with the shift button held/pressed

28. Press the ‘delete’ button again

29. Selections / Invert

30. Effects / 3D effects / Inner bevel, ‘ok’

31. Effects / Edge / Enhance, and repeat this one more time

32. Selections / Select none

33. Layer palette, lower opacity of layer 2 to 70

34. Layer palette, activate layer 1 (just click on the name)

35. Effects / Plug-in / IC Net software / Filters Unlimited 2 / Color filters / Sunshine, do not automatically hit ‘ok’ as you may need to (depending on your used image) change the settings a bit. Just play a bit with the settings!

36. Layers / Merge / Merge visible

37. Edit / Copy

38. Activate your 1024 x 350 image

39. Edit / Paste / Paste as new layer

40. Effects / 3D effects / Drop shadow, with these settings:
**Color: choose your background color**

41. Layers / Merge / Merge visible
