PREPARATIONS: Set your foreground color to
a 'light' color from your image. In the original tut, the foreground is set to
#d3cdcd. Set your background color to #392206.
- Open a new image 1024 x 450, transparent background. Flood Fill with your
light color.
- Go to 'Effects / Plugins / I.C. NET Software - Filters Unlimited - Photo Aging
Kit' and use these settings.
- Go to 'Effects / Plugins / FM Tile Tools - Blend Emboss'. Use the default
settings.
- Reverse (Swap) your foreground and background colors, so that the dark color
is now your foreground color.
- Add a new raster layer. Activate your 'Paint Brush Tool' and locate the brush
'L&K_lesNickita_tekst1' (text brush). Use these settings:
- Place the brush in the upper left corner, as shown here:
- Go to 'Effects / Plugins / Simple / Top Left Mirror'. Click 'OK'.
- Lower the opacity of this layer a little.
- Activate the 'Brush Tool' again, but this time locate 'brushL&K_lesNickita_roosjes'
(rose brush):
- Place the brush as shown here:
- Add a new raster layer.
- Activate the 'Rectangle Tool' in the Preset Shapes area of your toolbox. Use
the following settings:
- Draw a rectangle as shown below. You don't have to worry about the size, as
this will be taken care of in the next step.
- Activate the 'Deformation Tool', then click under 'Presets' and select the
preset 'L&K_lesNickita1' as shown here:
- Add a new raster layer. Draw another rectangle with the same settings as in
step 12. Again, do not worry about the size of the rectangle.
- Activate the 'Deformation Tool' again, but this time select the preset called
'L&K_lesNickita2':
- Hide all of your layers EXCEPT the 2 layers with the rectangles. Then go to
'Layers / Merge / Merge Visible'. Go to the Layers Palette and change the 'Blend
Mode' of this merged layer to 'Multiply'.
- Go to 'Effects / 3D Effects / Drop Shadow ' and use the following settings:
- Set this background strip to the side for now. We will now work on the 'Frame'.
- Open 'L&K_les_Nickita_album.pspimage'.
- Go to 'Image / Canvas Size', and use these settings:
- In the Layers Palette, right-click on this layer, and choose 'Duplicate'.
Then go to 'Image / Mirror'.
- Locate 'L&K_lesNickita_albumringen.pspimage'. Copy this image ('Edit / Copy').
Go back to the image with your frame, and select 'Edit / Paste / Paste As New
Layer'.
- Go to 'Layers / Merge / Merge Visible'.
- Go to 'Effects / Plugins / Final Impact / Hot Shot' and use these settings:
- With the 'Magic Wand Tool' select the transparent area in the middle of the
left picture frame.
- Activate the image you downloaded - 'y_unveiled.jpg' (or your own image) -
and go to 'Edit / Copy'. Then activate your frame image again, and select 'Edit
/ Paste / Paste Into Selection'.
- Select None (Ctrl + D). With the 'Magic Wand Tool' select the transparent
area in the middle of the right picture frame. Reverse (Swap) your foreground
and background colors so that your light color is now the foreground color.
- Flood Fill the selection with your light color.
- Go to 'Effects / Plugins / I.C. NET Software - Filters Unlimited - Photo Aging
Kit' and use the same settings used earlier (step 2).
- Keep the selection active. Reverse (Swap) your foreground and background colors
again, so that your dark color is now the foreground color.
- Click on the 'Paint Brush Tool' and select the brush 'L&K_lesNickita_albumplaatje'.
Use these settings:
- Select None (Ctrl + D). Then go to 'Effects / Plugins / Xero / Porcelain'
and use these settings:
- Now we want this completed frame over on the background strip that you made
at the beginning of the tutorial. Go to 'Edit / Copy', then activate the background
strip (1024 x 450). Go to 'Edit / Paste / Paste As New Layer'.
- Use the 'Mover Tool' to position the frame on the shelf:
- Go to 'Effects / 3D Effects / Drop Shadow' and use these settings:
- Now you can add a little decoration to the shelf, for example, the rose tube
(' L&Kroosje_lesNickita.pspimage') that was included in the materials you
downloaded. Colorize ('Adjust / Hue and Saturation / Colorize') the rose tube
with a color that goes well with the rest of your image.
- Reverse (Swap) your foreground and background colors (your dark color should
now be the background color). Click on the 'Text Tool' and locate the font ' Easy
Street Alt EPS' that was included in the materials you downloaded. Add your text.
- Now that you are finished, you can go to 'Layers / Merge / Merge All (Flatten)'.
