• Gradient GRIJS, here; extract to your psp gradient folder
• Jasc chain square silver 1, here; extract to a folder of your choice
• Psp image, Dominamiss_vivarant, here; extract to a folder of your choice

Preparation:

• Set your foreground to a plain black colour.
• THIS TUTORIAL HAS BEEN WRITTEN IN BLACK AND GREY TONES, LATER ON YOU CAN COLORIZE AS YOU LIKE IT, matching your tube.

1. Open a new transparent 1024 / 450

2. Selections – load/save selection – load selection from disk – find selection L&K LES SHAYENNE 1, following settings:

3. Flood fill with the black colour

4. Selections - load/save selection – load selection from disk – find selection L&K LES SHAYENNE 2

5. Flood fill the two selected areas with colour #353535

6. Selections – load/save selection – load selection from disk – find selection L&K LES SHAYENNE 3

7. Flood fill the selected areas with colour #505050

8. Selections – load/save selection – load selection from disk – find selection L&K LES SHAYENNE 4.

9. Flood fill the two selected areas with #7b7b7b

10. Selections – select none.

11. Use your magic wand and click in the two transparent areas.

12. Go to material and set your foreground to Gradient GRIJS

Following settings:

• Angle: 0
• Repeats: 1
• Invert: checked
• Style: linear

13. Flood fill the first compartment with your gradient

14. Set your background colour to black

15. YOUR FOREGROUND COLOUR STAYS #7b7b7b

16. Go to material, set to foreground / background gradient.

** in PSP 9 just reset to ALL**

17. Flood fill with the gradient.

18. Selections – select none.

19. Return to your (foreground) material and change the angle to 90.

20. Layers – new layer

21. Selections - load/save selection – load selection from disk – find selection L&K LES SHAYENNE 5

22. Flood fill with your foreground-background gradient.

23. Selections – select none

24. Effects – Edge Effects – Erode.

25. If you want to make this tutorial in black and grey tones, just like we did:

ADJUST NOW - HUE AND SATURATION – COLORIZE

Pick a colour matching your tube and colorize the small bar.

DO YOU PREFER OTHER COLOURS FOR YOUR 1024/450 IMAGE THEN SKIP THE COLORIZE NOW AND DO IT LATER ON. I will inform you when to do this.

26. Return to your foreground material and change the angle back to 0

27. LAYERS – NEW LAYER

28. Selections - load/save selection – load selection from disk – find selection L&K LES SHAYENNE 6

29. Flood fill – again use your foreground-background gradient.

30. SELECTIONS – SELECT NONE

31. Effects – Edge effects – Enhance

32. Highlight the tube: Chain square silver 1

33. Edit – copy

34. Highlight your working area

35. Edit – paste – paste as a new layer.

36. Place with the move tool, see the example given:

37. Layers – duplicate

38. Image – flip

39. Layers – merge – merge all (flatten)

40. For those who prefer other colours; now you will have to colorize!!!

ADJUST – HUE AND SATURATION – and pick a colour matching your tube.

41. Highlight the tube dominamiss_vivarant provided

If you use a tube of your own, check the size!

42. Image – resize – height: 195 pixels, all boxes checked.

43. Adjust – sharpness - unsharp mask; following settings:

44. Edit – copy

45. Highlight your 1024 / 450 working area

46. Edit – paste – paste as new layer.

47. Layers – merge – merge all flatten
